Piyush Patel, MD, F.R.C.P.
Principal Scientist

Dr. Piyush Patel is the co-founder of Allied Research International. He has more than 18 years of clinical research experience. He has designed numerous Phase I/Proof of concept studies, and has been involved as principal investigator in more than 300 clinical trials. His Board Certification in Clinical Immunology and Allergy, as well as his in-depth experience in respiratory and immunology clinical research has lead to his active participation in various appointments. These include Advisory Board Member (Allergy & Asthma) in several large Pharmaceutical companies, participation in FDA’s Pharmaceutical Sciences Advisory Committee, as well as his role as Chairman of the AAPS Nasal Drug Delivery Focus Group.

Arti Patel
Strategic Consultant

As the co-founder of Allied Research International, Mrs. Arti Patel brings to Allied Research International over 10 years experience in the clinical trial industry. She manages the Quality Assurance and Human Resources departments.


Paul J. Benninger
President

Paul Benninger plays a pivotal role in ARI’s Operations. He brings to ARI nearly 20 years of experience in early and late stage clinical research, and has been involved in over 300 Phase I studies covering many therapeutic areas. Paul is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the two main research divisions at ARI. The in-house clinical research units both in Miami and Toronto as well as the late stage group based mainly in Toronto which includes Clinical Monitoring, Clinical Trial Management and Data Management. As well has his day to day responsibilities, Paul plays a very active role in developing and executing ARI’s strategic plans. He is an active member of the GPhA Technical Advisory Committee and he has been a member of AAPS since 1992.

Murray P. Ducharme, PharmD, FCCP, FCP

Dr. Murray Ducharme’s expertise in infectious diseases and population PK/PD expertise is well-known in the industry. His 15 years industrial and academic experience includes his involvement as Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in more than 1000 clinical trials. Dr. Ducharme has been an expert Pharmacometric, Biopharmaceutics and Clinical Pharmacology consultant for several Pharmaceutical companies worldwide for submissions in the USA (FDA), Canada (HC) and Europe (MHRA). His academic achievements are equally impressive, with more than 150 seminars and 75 scientific posters presented in PK/PD and Clinical Pharmacology. Dr. Ducharme has published more than 100 manuscripts, abstracts and Book chapters in PK/PD and Clinical Pharmacology.

Michael Mays
Vice President, Finance

Michael Mays has over 18 years of professional experience as a CFO, Corporate Controller, as well as a Supervising Senior at KPMG, a global public accounting firm. Prior to his tenure at ARI he was VP Finance/CFO of a drug delivery systems company, where he helped raise over $50MM in a mezzanine round private placement and completed a successful S-1 (IPO) SEC filing. His experience with firms in rapid growth situations, hands-on knowledge of capital markets, cash management, and implementation of internal controls is pivotal to the financial operations at ARI.

John L Capicchioni
Vice President, Business Development

John leads the Business Development and Marketing for all Cetero Research companies since August 2006. Over the past 17 years, he has held various Business Development positions at leading CRO’s focusing in early stage development. John has managed large international BD team in 7 countries across North America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Capicchioni is active with various industry associations and has held Committee Chair and Board of Director positions. John has presented and moderated at a number of conferences and symposia.
